Hey, hey, welcome back to the Email Growth Show. I'm Kylie Kelly, visibility coach and audience growth strategist. And if you've ever felt overwhelmed by all the visibility advice online telling you have to post here, show up there, start a YouTube, go live on Instagram, write 5 blog posts a week, and yeah, don't forget to be a thought leader on fucking LinkedIn, then this episode is for you. Today we're diving into why being everywhere is not the answer and how to shift into visibility that is strategic, sustainable, and actually builds your business. Because here's the truth that I've learned over and over again: visibility without relationships doesn't convert. And if your visibility strategy isn't helping you grow real relationships with real people, it's not a strategy. It's a fucking burnout plan. So let's talk about what to focus on instead.

Now, at the heart of everything that I teach, whether it's email, podcasting, bundles, or summits, is the belief that relationships come first. We've seen people blow up on social media overnight and then fade just as quickly. That's because visibility on its own isn't enough. It has to lead somewhere. It has to create connection. It has to build trust. Relationship-first marketing is about showing up as yourself in the places your ideal clients already are and create consistent opportunities for connection. So when the time is right, they say yes.

Visibility isn't about being loud. It's about being known, trusted, and remembered. It won't surprise you that I believe that visibility isn't about going viral or collecting followers. Thank God for that. It's about becoming a familiar, trusted voice in your space. When somebody says, "Oh, I'm looking for a copywriter," or, "I need help with launching," or, "I want to homeschool my kids," are you the person that comes to mind? That's the goal. That doesn't happen by shouting into the void on a dozen platforms. It happens when you go deep, instead of wide when you pick a few visibility channels and truly commit to them.

I wanted to share with you my current top 3 visibility channels and why they work. Firstly, the channels that you choose or the platforms that you choose, they should shift with your season, with your goals, and with your audience. And for me, that's exactly what I do every 90 days with the help of my AI assistant strategic planner, Sally. Now, because I love you, I have linked her in the show notes below. But right now, the start of April, here are my top 3 visibility platforms that are building both my search-based discoverability and relationship-based trust.

Because if you've listened to anything that I've done before, I believe we need to have both. We need to have the more long-term strategies in place, stuff that is based on SEO and search type type strategies, right, as well as the relationship-based collaborations. So number 1 is hosting my own podcast. Now this one is a non-negotiable for me. It allows me to show up consistently, position myself as a thought leader, and speak directly to my audience in a deeper, meaningful way. That's you, right? Like, this is what I'm doing here right now. Plus, my show notes are also optimized for SEO, helping me get discovered by new audiences through search. It's content that works now and will also work over time.

So So that's number 1. Number 2 is guest speaking in memberships, masterminds, and summits. This is where the relationship side of visibility really shines. These are warm audiences that are already engaged, and when I get to show up, teach, and genuinely connect, it often converts way better than anything cold. I love it when it's more of a live conversation or an interview-style session rather than a static presentation, mainly because of that interaction side, right? Because that way I get to show up, I get to answer questions, I get to interact, and then I get to switch back into mum mode and it's all done and Trusted. Works really well for the season of life that I'm in right now. And then number 3 is freebie swaps and email list collabs. So this one is all about growing your list with intention.

Whether it's a swap, an inbox takeover, or a collaborative bundle, I want to attract the right subscribers, not just anyone. It's not about chasing vanity numbers. It's about building a list full of people who are aligned, interested, and excited to hear from me. And of course, I'm always nurturing that list in a way that deepens trust. So again, my top 3: hosting my own podcast, guest speaking and memberships, masterminds and summits, and freebie swaps and email list collabs. Keeping in mind this is the focus for my next 90 days, and then I'll work with my AI assistant Strategic Planner Sally to see what the next 90 days might look like. And this might shift and change, but this is what I am focused on right now. So I want to help you choose a visibility strategy that feels good and grows your audience in a real sustainable way.

So here are some questions to journal on or voice note out loud. What visibility action makes me feel most like myself? Where do I feel most confident showing up? Where is my ideal client already paying attention? And what feels sustainable for the long haul? Spoiler alert: if your current strategy feels draining, forced, or chaotic, it's probably not the right one. So think about how you would answer these questions. Remember, there are options. I will link another podcast episode in the show notes where I went through my visibility framework and went over all all the different ways you can choose to grow your audience. When you are thinking about the answers to these questions, think about your options, right? You don't have to fucking dance on Instagram. You don't have to do something that's not in alignment because it will never work. It's not sustainable and it will burn you the fuck out.

So think about these questions and choose something that you feel excited about, that you know you can commit to for 90 days, that you want to try. And don't make yourself fit somewhere that's not meant for you. And remember that you don't have to do it all. I used to feel like I had to do it all, right? Like I used to think that I had to show up every day, I had to be available 24/7, I had to create new content for every platform. Now I just repurpose stuff really smartly, right? Like, I speak where people are listening and I double down on relationships over reach. It's how I've grown a business that I love. It's how I filled it with dream clients without chasing vanity metrics, right? And you can do the same.
